I am directed by the Lord President of the Council to transmit to you the enclosed Order of Her Majesty in Council, of the 10th instant, revoking the Orders in Council of 30 August, 1862, and of the 13th January, 1863, authorizing British Subjects to take Military and Naval Service under the Chinese Government;

and I am to request that you will be pleased to lay the same before the Secretary of State for the Colonial Department.
